The Castle

The Castle has four double rooms, each with its own theme setting and en suite bathroom.

A corporate room and two large sitting rooms encircle a courtyard with a small spa swimming pool and a sauna.

A separate large function room which seats 100 people is joined adjacent to the castle with its own kitchen.

The large cellar under the main building would make for an unforgettable function venue with its thick walls and low arches.

Functions

The Castle is purpose built with functions and weddings in mind, however it still has a warm homely feeling especially at night where it creates a mystical atmosphere.

The Castle is our favorite wedding and function location as it is our base and we are personally involved in every part of each event.

Please contact us for a quote on a wedding, anniversary or corporate function.

Private hire

The castle can be hired for personal use on a fully catered basis at £1500 per day which will include breakfast, lunch and dinner for 8 people sharing 4 double room. This includes a range of wines, all which would rate at least 4 stars according to John Platter's wine accreditation. Spirits will be available to be purchased form our licence bar.

We shall be happy to supply further details on request.

The Setting

The Castle is located 10 km from Hartenbos on the road to Oudtshoorn. It is set on 250 acres of

fynbos near the Outeniqua mountain range in the renowned Garden Route of South-Africa. A small

river runs through the farm and the whole setting makes for interesting walking trips while exploring the

fauna and flora on offer.

Brandwag Castle

The Castle incorporating Veretti vineyard will be available from January 2009 for functions and exclusive private hire.

Testimonial from Daniel our Chef friend from Manchester

Well, what can I say. I have been to the farm a few times now and I
have to say its a whole world of your own.
I have so many memories, that all I can do to get them down on paper
is list just some of them:

The first time I visited, we flew into Johannesburg and instead of
flying to George, we drove to the farm , a long journey, but god was
it worth it!
The scenery was breathtaking and we met some lovely people along the
way.
When we arrived at the castle it was just foundations but I could see
the beginnings of something fabulous!
On my most recent visit, the castle was finished and looked stunning,
wow! what a venue!

One of my most cherished memories was to sit on top of the mountain,
late at night, beer in hand and fish on the barbecue, looking into
the crystal clear sky at the hundreds of stars, I almost needed a
pinch to convince me I was really there.

I have so many more memories, but all I can say is its a slice of
African heaven. enjoy!
