Marriage Legality |
Marriages conducted in South-Africa of UK and Irish citizens are legally binding in those respective countries. Other countries, please check with your local Government web site first.
Documentation required
- Birth certificate
- 10 Year passport with 6 months validity remaining
- Divorcees need a Decree Absolute
- Widows and widowers - Previous Marriage Certificate and a death certificate of spouse
- Written consent in case of persons under 18
General information
- Two witnesses are required and, if necessary, we will act as these on your request
- Civil or religious marriages can be arranged -please advise us on your requirements
- You will be issued with a marriage certificate and the marriage officer will submit the marriage register to the the Home Affairs Office where it will be recorded in South-Africa's National Population Register.
